Assortment of Rough Diamonds

That’s because we’re an independent jewelry company committed to offering diamonds that are sourced from mines in locations that strictly follow internationally recognized labor, trade and environmental standards - and beyond. We specifically source our stones to ensure that the production process benefits the local natural diamond-producing community. We also give back to the countries where our diamonds are found, primarily Botswana, South Africa and Namibia, with donations to local hospitals, infrastructure and schools.

In fact, the Padis family has visited sub-Saharan Africa to visit diamond mines and cutting factories, met with officials including the president and first lady of Botswana, and was responsible for the donation of dialysis machines for the Oyetweni Health Centre to help area hospitals better serve patients.

“During my trip to Botswana, I was able to see the diamond practices up close and meet the skilled craftsmen and craftswomen who mine, cut and polish the precious stones that make our jewelry so special,” explains Steve Padis.

“It reinforced to me the importance of both jewelers and consumers insisting on the highest ethics for diamond sourcing, so that we can empower and uplift the communities in these diamond-producing countries. This results in safe working conditions and fair wages for the workers, opportunities for economic growth and development for the countries, and the most beautiful diamonds in the world for our customers.”

In 2022, Alexis Padis, who is the current president of the board of directors of the American Gem Society, was recognized for promoting ethical diamond practices and sourcing as an inaugural winner of the NextGen Award from Diamonds Do Good. The global non-profit was originally inspired by Nelson Mandela to bring awareness of the positive impact of diamonds in South Africa.Today the organization focuses on creating meaningful change in natural diamond communities across the globe.
